Hello Vanith. How are you? Dan and I returned to San Francisco a couple of days ago.
We want to thank you for such a wonderful time in Cambodia with you as our guide, and now, friend. Your knowledge of Cambodia's history; your thoughtfulness and kindness; your humor and your willingness to meet our every request was exemplary and very much appreciated. We hope every visitor to Cambodia is fortunate enough to have you as their guide. We learned more from you about Cambodia, its people and their culture and the ancient ruins than we learned in all the books and articles we read to prepare for our trip. Thank you for making us feel at home in your country. I am copying this email to a very good friend of ours who may be traveling to Cambodia within the next month or two.
We told him to be sure to contact you, as we will tell any and all of our friends. Please contact us to let us know how you and your family are doing. Again, thank you for a great two days.

Vanith, touring Angkor Wat with you has been a delight. We found you to be extremely friendly, knowledgeable and informative about not only Angkor Wat, but about all things Cambodian.
When we asked you a question about some of the local food available at the markets, you had your driver take a detour to show us a special market, and even bought us a Khmer egg! (not to mention all the cool stuff you told us about bugs and termites!) Getting to see and learn about the many temples we toured was fantastic (of course) but probably just as interesting was getting to learn so much from you about Cambodian customs, food, and history. We would highly recommend you as an English-language guide to anyone. Michael and I have tried to think of suggestions for how you could improve your services, and had a hard time coming up with anything useful.
Having the cold water, the cool towels, and the air-conditioned van are all huge assets to the services you offer. We also really appreciate how helpful you have been in pointing out good photo opportunities, not to mention the many photos you so kindly offered to take for us. Many thanks again for everything you've taught and shown us over the past two days; you have hugely enriched our experience here in Cambodia. Christy and Michael

I have been a travel consultant for over 25 years. I knew that if I was really going to appreciate the Angkor Wat complex and Siem Reap, I would need the assistance of a local guide. After much research, I decided on Vanith Hoeum and I was not disappointed.
Vanith was very helpful with suggestions, as we arranged our itinerary via email. As expected, when we landed, a smiling Vanith was waiting for us for our transfer. When we first arrived in 2009, the streets of Siem Reap were flooded and our family of six certainly benefited from the expertise and local knowledge of Vanith and his team. Not only were Vanith and his team always punctual in appointed pick-ups, they were able to adjust to the difficult circumstances while we pursued our proposed itinerary.
Vanith is university educated, speaks and writes excellent English, he is very knowledgeable, polite and flexible with our arrangements. He is well regarded as a tour guide and was chosen to be part of the “Amazing Race†team when they arrived in Siem Reap. We found Vanith to be very trustworthy and decent. We always felt safe and well looked after in his company. We enjoyed, not only his fantastic local knowledge of the area, but also his own stories.
We returned to Siem Reap in late 2010 with friends and again a smiling Vanith greeted us at the airport (this time there was no flooding). Vanith and his team were as ever reliable, friendly and flexible during our 9 day stay during which period our daughter volunteered at the ADOCO children’s orphanage, which was, for her, a rewarding experience. Angkor Wat is a special place. You really need the expertise of a guide to truly appreciate its rich history and beauty. I can highly recommend Vanith Hoeum as an excellent tour guide.

Vanith Hoeum, An Excellent Guide!
Vanith is not only well-educated on the history of the region and an officially certified guide, he is also a really friendly and funny guy. Some of the best times with him are inevitably listening his wonderful stories. He has some great insights and a sunny outlook. He explains everything and he listens too. He is always early for pick-ups, extremely polite, very honest and reliable. His English is also very good. An interesting tidbit about Vanith is that he was involved in the production of "The Amazing Race" when they shot in Siem Reap! Vanith comes hightly recommended! Contact him at email@example.com
